Get active at L.E. Phillips Senior Center!

Attend one or many of our fitness classes. Some activities require a punch card and can be purchased at the Center’s office. Punch cards do not expire.
Punch card fees are:

Member:

  • $25.00 for a 15 punch card

Non-member

  • $30.00 for a 15-punch card

Fitness for the month of September:

 

Circuit Class- M-W 8:30-9:30 am (Punch Card)

This 60 minute class is designed for all levels of fitness. Move through arranged workout stations to perform a combination of cardiovascular, strength and balance exercises.

 

Strength Class- M-W-F 9:30-10:30 am. M 8:15-9:15 am and W 7:15-8:15 am (Punch Card)

This class uses dumbbells, barbells and your own body weight as resistance to get stronger and fit.

 

Get Fit- M-W-F 10:40-11:40 am (Fee: Free)

This class includes full body stretches, strengthening exercise using light weights, elastic tubing or simply your own body with a variety of movements to increase heart rate.

 

Morning Blast- T-TH 8:30-9:30 am (Punch Card)

This low impact, high energy class is new. Join in on the 60 minutes workout that includes low impact aerobics followed by strength and flexibility training.

 

Move Your Body- T-TH 10:30-11:30 am. W 8:30-9:30 am (Punch Card)

Movement with music. Therapy for the body, mind and soul. Work at your own pace, modifications shown. Keep movement in your life! Do it for Your!                                             $10m/ $12.50nm- 5 punches. Walk-in $2m/ $2.50nm

 

Step Class- Fridays 8:30-9:30 am (Punch Card)

Class allows you to work at your level of fitness using a step platform to increase cardiovascular and overall strength. Moves can be performed on a step or on the floor. Great fun and a big challenge.

 

Yoga; Moving With Mindfulness- W 4:30-5:45 pm

The focus is on strengthening the core with simple movements and using your breath to release and gently deepen in yoga poses. Fee: Pay instructor- $10m /$13nm

 

Chair Yoga- M 1-2 pm

Movement from a seated position and standing postures, to build core strength, foster ease of movement and release tension through the tradition of Yoga linking movement, breath and attention. Fee: Pay instructor- $5m/ $7nm

 

Building the Core- 2nd and 4th Wednesdays 12-12:45 pm

45 minute class targets the core, abs, legs and lower back.                                                             Fee: $1m/ $1.50nm

 

Exercise Orientation- M-W 9:30-11:30 am. T-Th 8-11 am

Mary Mero, Wellness/ Special Events Coordinator will be available to introduce participants on various forms of physical activity that will improve and/or strengthen their cardiovascular and muscular systems using exercise equipment available.

 

Open Fitness Center- Daily. M-W 9:30 am- 4 pm. T-TH-FRI 8 am- 4 pm

Workout in ways to fit your personal needs. Open fitness includes a circuit of stations that provide opportunities for a full body workout. Challenge your strength, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular system.                                                                                                                    Fee: $5/ monthly. Card purchased at the Center Office.

 

Pilates and Zumba Gold

These are offered as classes. Check the new listings each month.

 

On the Ball- T 7:30- 8:30 am

Cardio, toning and isolation of all muscles groups using vizio ball for balance and stamina. Use weights and bands also. Fee: $2m/ $3nm. Pay instructor.
