Are you looking for a group of people with the same interests as you? Join one of the many social groups here at L.E. Phillips Senior Center. Groups and meeting times are listed below.

RSVP(Retired and Senior Volunteer Program)

Volunteers create handcrafted dolls, stuffed animals, and or snuggle blankets to comfort children brought to the local hospital emergency rooms or for surgery.

Meets on Tuesdays from 9-11 a.m.

Golden “K” Kiwanis

Local community service group meets weekly, speakers address issues of interest. New members are welcome.

Meets Tuesdays from 9-10 a.m.

River City Rubies

Ladies gather in their red hats to enjoy an afternoon with friends, playing games, listening to speakers, along with going out to lunch.

Meets the 3rd Thursday of the month from 1-3:15 p.m.


Group carvers meet to socialize, exchange patterns & ideas. Help is available if you need it, beginning carvers are welcome.

Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesday of this month from 6-9 p.m.

Writing for Fun

For people who want to do more than write in their diary. Have fun with limericks, haiku, letter writing and short essays.

10-11:30am the 2nd Thurs. and 12:30-2pm the 4 th Thurs. of month starting in Oct.

Trivia for Seniors

Get a team together for a fun afternoon of trivia. Form a team of a maximum of 6 persons or join a team that day. We will have prizes and refreshments. Sign-up in office & walk-ins accepted.

Meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.
Nominal Fee: $2 member/$3 non-member

Line Dancing

Join the group for favorite dances along with learning some new ones. Great for improving balance, stamina and relieving stress.

Meets on Thursdays at 9 a.m.
Nominal Fee: $2 member/$3 non-member

Happy Hookers

For those who do beginning to advanced crafts of any kind. All are welcome to bring his or her own projects & materials to work on or to learn a new craft of any sort. This group is responsible for the craft sales that are open for any special event. Senior Center gets 100% profit to use as needed.

Meets every Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Rubber Stamping

All are invited, learn to score & cut paper, apply ink, as well as other specific stamping techniques. Each week includes “4 make & take” card projects. Bring your own scissors & adhesive of your choice. There will be time to work on your own projects using supplies after lesson is finished.

Thurs. 1pm $5m/$5.50nm


Pool Tables

Play in the Center’s lower level. Pool cues & supplies needed to play are provided, but you may bring your own.

Open Monday – Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Blue Grass Jam

Do you play the guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin, harmonica or bass (all levels) and like to have a little fun jamming with like-minded persons. Join your senior friends for a fun afternoon.

Meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, 12:30-3 p.m.
